Wasn't a telly gaffe as such, but it was a gaffe on the telly, that I saw recently.

One of the Granda programmes featuring places of interest to visit, showed the textile museum at Helmshore. They had a Victorian mocked up classroom, with someone supposedly teaching people dressed in white tie and tails. A definte no-no there for accuracy.
