Friends are very important but being a friend is even more important - from what you've said you are being a good friend by just being there for him right now.

It's so hard to see a dear friend suffering and not be able to do anything to help but the best thing you can do it to be there and be the friend that you are. I know how much it hurts and there is no shame in crying.

done all that bullseyebarb but boy when you shared the relationship that we did... when you fought side by side and found that the women you were carrying out of woolworths in manchester on your back were dead the relationship becomes so strong it bloody hurts . but thanks for your thoughts.

OMG Fireman you poor thing , no matter what you hear right now nothing will take the hurt you are feeling away .Your friend has probably treasured having you by his side ,I understand the pain you are both going through as I ve been there myself with my ex mum in law .
Dont be affraid to cry ,It does take a bigger man to show his emotions and if only everyone were as lucky to have a friend like you .. Its so hard to know what to say at time like these only my heart goes out to you and your friend and may time ease your pain ..take care |

Apart from knowing how you feel, in that I have lost many to this horrid disease including my Mum. I don't know what I can say as everyone has said it before me. But if you need an ear or a shoulder give me a shout.
