Maybe they'll get PET scans at Blackburn too eventually.

Just to set the record straight, it was a mobile unit at Preston Royal it did not belong to the NHS, it cost £1000.00 per person to go through it, the NHS paid for it, anyone wanting to knock the NHS is on a looser with me.

So how come the NHS hasn't got its own?

I do not know 'Willow' they had two waggons there, it was like the old 'Mass Mobile Radiography Unit' we had as kid's, it is new technology may be that is why, whether it is any use I do not know as my results are not yet forthcoming, regards Ian.

Oh the sager still continues - gee this system isn't any easier, just rang patient services & basically even with the choices your supposed to have theres only one for me - doh thats what ive been saying all along!!! Basically they are going to ring me back next wed when they have assessed the referal & they decide the best consultant ----- errrrrrmmmmmmmm CONFUSED!!! I thought this system meant that the options were open for the patient to decide with the given options - so whats the point in changing the system?!?!!? In my case theres only one consultant for the job anyway but still have to wait for them to decide the case now ggggrrrr:(

Correct there is only one for each type of complaint in East Lancs, if you require a lung surgeon you may have to go to Blackpool, also if it's heart.

I saw heart specialist at Blackburn this week Ianto. They told me that until recently it would have been Blackpool for the procedure but now they've got the necessaries at Blackburn.

Good luck Mel with eventually getting somewhere. It's crazy that it is such a convoluted mess. Have you still got your hair on?

Just rung my consultants office they say they will try to fit me in, as they now do a fortnightly clinic at Blackburn, but only when they know what to treat, as some of the 'specialist equiptment is not in place yet at Blackburn. Best of luck Accymel keep 'dogging' them.

I go to Preston to visit the neurologist. The one I used to go to many years ago before he signed me off was at Bury General but he retired and Bury shut!
I've never had any problems about referrals - my doctor sends a letter and i receive an appointment. Good luck mel it sounds like you need it.
