I think you've got a nerve expecting your daughter to divvy up her hard earned pittance from her paper round.

In answer to your real question, stick with British Summer Time. Why should a few farmers hold sway over the rest of us.
Give me those lazy summer evenings relaxing in a beer garden. :D

I understood that it was for Scotish farmers who then don't have to milk twice in the dark. And if I was a Labour Government, I wouldn't want to annoy them. BUT they have their own Parliament now, let them set their own times.

I just wish they would leave it at one thing......and I don't really care if it is BST or GMT.......it takes my body clock anywhere between 3 and 6 weeks to adjust. I get really tired and my digestive system gets really stubborn...all for a blooming hours daylight!

They would but the amount of trouble it would cause would not be worth it. If you lived in Dumfries and Worked in Carlise you would be changing your watch everyday. I dont think the farmers are going to be really bothered with all the technology there is and besides if the cattle are indoors then there is lighting so they cant argue that they are in the fields.

Leave the clock's alone. There is no need for it. We need the extra light in the evenings.
There is nothing more disheartening than when your working the night shift and you have to work that extra hour.

think the practice is well outdated as jambutty says its a bind and i know many who when working forgot to alter the damn clocks, and some who were sent home from work for arriving late, so sod the farmers, when did they ever bother about any ****** else?;)

All times are GMT. The time now is 10:08.
