I Am Very Very Angry

I can believe what has happend last night.

I was in bed with my fiance, when her phone goes of, its 4am so any call at this time must be important.

Anyhow its her sister, who goes on to tel her that her granmother who lives in Church and is 88 years of age has just been woke in her bed by a masked intruder asking her where her money is.

The skum bag had broken in via the back window, searched the property and when he couldnt find anything he though he would try and intimidate stuff out of her.

Thankfully she talked him down, and screemed, this made him leave in a hurry, hopefully leaving DNA on the broken glass.

I mean FFS what is this place coming to she is 88 yrs old, she couldnt harm a fly, now she is left with a busted window (im popping down to secure soon somehow) and the threat he may retrun at a late date.

Angry doesnt sum how I feel at the moment I would just love to catch this scum bag and **** him up.

Re: I Am Very Very Angry

Hope they catch the piece of filth and lock him up. How's your Gran now ?

***Mr D*** 16-12-2006 11:11

Re: I Am Very Very Angry

Its my fiances Nan.

She is not to good to be honest, shook up, she like 88 and been conned a few times already this year by the door knock scammers (the one who distract whilst one ransaks threw house).

Im going down myself as soon as a mate whos a window fitter comes with his stuff so we can at least make the property secure.

Its like shes a target, thats what winds me up the most, I would say she has been a victim of crime over 4 times this year, its a joke:mad: . I have a suspishion (SP) that its a group of the same people who keep trying it on, thinking she has lots of cash around the house, I mean she like 4ft something so no threat to anyone.

Its just lucky that nothing worse happened and the intruder left, without casing any pysical (SP) harm.

Makes me sick.:(

I hope they manage to catch the scumbag, and that they give him more than a slap on the wrists if they do, or a bit of litter picking up.

What scumbags!!! Hope Shes ok now.

Doug 16-12-2006 11:58

Re: I Am Very Very Angry

I hope she’s feeling stronger and comfortable soon, I hope and pray she’s able to remain in her own home. If they have DNA it should only be a matter of time if the bastard is already known, If he’s not, it can only a matter of time before he turns up. Although it would be much better if you can find the ****er yourself and pat his hands, wrists and elbows with a nice bit of Yew.

chav1 16-12-2006 13:13

Re: I Am Very Very Angry

i hope they catch the bastard and also hope he gets a judge not affraid to hand down a maximum penalty

filth is all i can say i hope one day this person breaks into the wrong house and gets well deserved hiding

my mother got broken into a while ago and for over a year kept all the windows and doors locked in fear even through the hot summer as she was affraid to be alone in the house

the guy who burgled her D.B is a well known theif to the police and he eventualy got caught but also admited to a lot more burgularies so that he couldnt be tried for them seperatly when he got back out and his scentence was a pittance

hope she gets over her ordeal soon these scumbags dont care what teh after effects are especialy to the elderly

What a despicable crime Mr D ... the worst nightmare, can only imagine the fear she went through.

I sincerely hope that this piece of cow dung is brought to justice and punished severely for this crime. Would feel as you do, and wish to do all sorts of nasty things to this guy if it were one of my relations and sod the law. Let her know that there are people on here that are thinking about her >>> xx

Thanks for all your kind words.

She is taking it well, but it must be bad for her though probably putting on a brave face.

The police have been great though. they secured the window found 3 blood samples and a foot print so hopefully they might stop this scumbag before he trys again.

My earlier post seems to have done a bunk, maybe I forgot to click the button, so just wanted to say again that I'm absolutely shocked and horrified at this. What an awful experience. It would be enough to put anyone off living alone for fear of it happening again. Let's hope they catch the intruder and that he gets the punishment he deserves.

I hope your fiancee's Gran gets over the shock.

So sorry to have had this incident happen Mr. D! What a horrible thing for anyone to have to have gone through but especially someone this old. At this age, the elderly should be served with honor, dignity, and respect but nowadays many (esp. the younger generation) see them like potential targets or "throw-away objects!"

I know many of you are against the freedom we have with our guns but does my heart good when this happens and the thief/rapist gets their head blown off. I'm sure it makes our "scumbags" think a bit before they go into a house or apartment.

I know where you are coming from, it might act as a deterent from actually committing the crime, but if the scumbag thought Granny had a gun under her pillow, wouldn't the scumbag just take a gun as well?

After all if you are asleep having a gun would make no difference, you wouldn't have time to use it.

Although it has increased gun crime is still relatively rare in this country. If Granny was allowed to keep a gun it would just mean more of the criminals would carry them too.

That said, I'm sure we'd all like to take a pot shot at the cowardly piece of **** who broke into this elderly woman's house.

LancYorkYankee 16-12-2006 16:54

Re: I Am Very Very Angry

Yeah, you're right Rindy about the criminal then needin a gun. That's why I said it does my heart good when it works out right. There are many times when bad things happen in those situations like kids or spouse being accidentally shot. I guess I was noting a "perfect (said VERY tongue-in-cheek) world!"

Over here, it seems many break-ins are done when either the house is empty and these thiefs are just looking for a quick steel. Rarely have a weapon. The rapist type seem mostly to be armed with knives. I remeber one up in Maryland where the had a serial rapist. The stay at home Moms (who were being targeted) were prepared. One shot the ****** with a crossbow! Again, warms the heart eh?

Brian

Tough go in General today eh Rind?

WillowTheWhisp 16-12-2006 18:19

Re: I Am Very Very Angry

It's not so much the break in that gets me, though that was bad enough. It's intimidating an elderly person which makes my blood boil.

Re: I Am Very Very Angry

Hope she's feeling a bit better now. My mum's 88 and lives with us and we still worry about what might happen to her while we're out at work during the day.

Let's be honest though, we're all wishing terrible punishments on this piece of scum, but it won't happen. If he's caught he'll get a community service order or maybe a light prison sentence (with early release, of course). Perhaps, Greg Pope would like to come on here and explain why his government are so weak and spineless on the law and order issue?...but don't hold your breath!

What a truly awful thing to happen to your fiance's gran. The fact that she has been targeted 4 times this year probably mean that your suspicions are correct MrD. I hope they catch the git who did this, but I worry about the pathetic punishments that these people receive.

The one thing the perps hate is the thought that their potential victim might be armed. Countless crimes are prevented every year because people defend themselves in a variety of ways. I take to heart the advice of Annie Oakley, who thought all women should sleep with a loaded gun next to their bed. I carry concealed, too. Never leave home without my Mr. Sparky.

Thanks again for you warm comments.:)

She is still a bit shook up, but getting over the ordeal the best she can.

Its on the front page of the telegraph today.

Will hopefully make others awaire of the possible threat and to be a bit more vigalent, especially if you are elderley and alone.

Hopefully the DNA results will be done soon and the scum can be aprehended, but we all know that the punishment will be mild.

Would you arm your children as well, given the same rationale, that you think carrying a gun would lessen the chances of them being a victim of crime?

I hope the lady who suffered this frifghtening crime is feeling better, and doesn't let these scumbags spoil her independance.

Well they have caught the offender thanks to science.

He is awaiting magistrates in the morning who will probably reffer to crown court, who knows what he will get.

Just read the report in the Observer Mr. D. and she looks a lovely lady and comments how well her grandaughters have been looking after her over Christmas. The Lions have also given her a neck pendant that calls the calling centre should she have any further trouble.

Anyway, seems this b4stard lives on the same street and is called COLIN HALSTEAD. He at least has had the decency to plead guilty.

Depends on his record. Problem is that he has only pleaded guilty to burglary. Frightening an old lady in her bed in the middle of the night doesn't seem to be a criminal offence

Hopefully he will has an extensive record and will go down for a few years

Didn't say Willow (unusually !) .. but all will be revealed. Colin isn't a name you would have given to anybody under 30 though, is it ??

Think, as Lancsdave mentioned, probably not taken into account that he could have frightened an elderly lady, (and thank goodness no consequences), is not taken into consideration. I think it should be taken into consideration if burglars go into a property knowing someone is there, and high risk of confrontation and possible attack on the victim when challenged.

lancsdave 30-12-2006 18:39

Re: I Am Very Very Angry

I suspect if he didn't have previous he wouldn't be up for sentencing at Crown Court for a first time burglary offence.

you suspect wrong dave unless the law has changed with a Burgalry charge the magistrates usually say they havent enough power to sentence them (used to be 6months max) so they remand them to the crown/sessions etc for trail irrelavant of wether they have previous or not, the upside of that is the turds more chance of getting a lagging cos as hes pleading guilty theres no jury to con its just down to the judge. i,m assuming that is its a Burgalry charge? for some strange reason Breaking and Entering is not viewed as serious in the eyes of the law-- beats the hell out of me.;)

Re: I Am Very Very Angry

No doubt some deal has already been struck for the 'guilty' plea, and his legal freebie representative will make the scumbag sound like a misguided Archangel David, you will then get the 'mamby pamby' probation report "I think this poor deprived young man will benefit from a community sentence". Oh how wrong I hope I am.
