Getting back to clocks. We had one on the wall at the bottom of the stairs that didn't work. It had worked but just stopped and refused to work again so we got a new one. The new one was fine until we put it up on the wall and then it stopped and now that one won't go either. Both were/are battery operated.

Perhaps all your neighbors are plotting against you trying to make you paranoid of ghosts by attaching huge magnets to their walls.
