What Do You Miss Most?
 

This is in no way a go at Roy, we know he's a very busy man with a young family and has also had to remove whatever features he thinks necessary to keep accyweb safe, it's a post just for conversational purposes.

I know quite a few of us have said how much we miss the chatroom but what do you miss most on accyweb? The Gallery? The Petz? The Arcade or something as simple as the 'edit' button?

I miss the journals used to read my Sisters so I knew what she was up to, the pets (my pet spider Dave) and the gallery enjoyed looking at the piccis of the web meets as its been so long since I've made it to one!

Journals - what everyone got up to!!!
Gallery
Accy bot - oh what tinks and slinks was teaching him!!! Wonder why you never saw any mods in the chatroom - we'd have been banned for bad language for ever and a day!!!!

Dont miss the ackers that much - mind you tinks was teaching me how to thieve from people werent you tinks!!

Pets didnt have any because i thought i wouldnt be on accyweb enough to look after it!

Well I do miss the edit buitton. Spelling and punctuation mistakes only magically appear after the time limit is up.

As for engaging one's brain before opening one's mouth, I stand behind every single one of the 9,469 posts I've ever made on this forum.:)

Well as I'm one of the main culprits I'm going to take that personally! You don't like our banter and I don't like your tediously boring 1000 word (so called "intellectual conversation" :rofl38: ) essay posts, so I don't read them, simple! You don't like our banter don't read it. There is an ignore button you know ;)

If we go over the top with chit-chat posts we soon get pulled back in to line by the moderators, as that's their job.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, I only come on accyweb for entertainment purposes, you don't like that, tough!

I don't really see the problem. There is something for everyone on here, if you don't have an interest in something, you don't need to read it. I don't.

Instead of complaining about a lack of 'intellectual' threads on here, why don't those same people actually start some, instead of moaning about their absence?

I miss my writing my journal..........and so much has happened while i haven't been able to write it. I also miss the Arcade, though to be honest I was absolute 'bobbins' at most of the games....and I miss the photo comps too.
I couldn't hack the chatroom......I fell in there once by accident.......and I couldn't keep track of what was going on.

Margaret the chatroom was easy to use all you had to do was type something argumentative sit back and relax and we'd carry it on!!! Many a night i had in there that rindy and tinks and slinks and some people i wont name had a right ding dong in there!!!! :D

I think that is a very sensible suggestion. I don't get het up about threads that I'm not interested in.......I just don't read them.

Also, 'intellectual' is a very subjective word.......what one person sees as 'intellectual' will be seen as dross to someone else. I also think those people who want 'intellectual' can look elsewhere for their fix. In some way they are implying that they are better than most of us who frequent this site(for entertainment, information and pleasure).

Some posts ( no names mentioned) bored the tats off me....LONG and drawn out. Sometimes I think people read words in dictionaries and just try to fit them in long posts to make themselves feel and look better.:D

I received a really good diary at Christmas....and I hoped to write that every day.......I think I managed up until the 10th of January. I know that sometimes I would go for weeks without adding to my blog......but I always tried to make the effort. Fans......I didn't know i had fans!

I’ve been a member of this forum since January 2004 and since then have only posted 1,200 times. Compared to other members who joined after me and posted many, many more times that would surely indicate that I am selective in what I read and reply to.

But before I can stay away from a thread I have to read at least part of the opening post and not just judge it on the title.

What I miss most is when one of us would start an idea and the rest would follow like when staggers did a thread called lets do one within minutes it was covering pages it was stupid but nobody had any objections 'cos we were having fun, now if you try to do anything silly everybody comes up with a justification to make it serious.

I didn't join accyweb for serious discussions only, I used to laugh at what others would think up just to get us talking, look at what I have become, I have allowed the serious people, the people that want to use this site for their own opinions to take over what used to be enjoyable and they give us all nothing but doom and gloom, we used to come on here to share Fun,and the odd serious fact now we do nothing but opinionate.

There is no need for us to be anything except what we once were, Happy!
