Astronomers are confident that even with the naked eye stargazers will be treated to dramatic views of the eclipse, which will be at its height from 10.24pm to 11.58pm.

these are the times for it.....

Moon enters penumbra: 20:18
Moon enters umbra: 21:30
Totality begins: 22:44
Mid-eclipse: 23:21
Totality ends: 23:58
Moon leave umbra: 01:11
Moon leaves penumbra: 02:24

Make sure you only view it through a piece of smoked glass, otherwise you could damage your retinas, and you'll not be able to see anything come dawn.:D

A lunar eclipse wont do you any harm at all, its a solar eclipse you shouldn't view directly

Might have got the word solar wrong but anyway, you can view an eclipse of the moon but not an eclipse of the sun

Beautiful clear sky and full vision of the moon at the back of my house. Hope it stops that way, I don't think I've seen a lunar eclipse before :confused:

What happened up here when we had that last solar eclipse, back in the late nineties?

I was working in London then, and it was totally weird when it went very dark just before lunch on a sunny day. All the traffic stopped, and everyone came out of their offices to watch it.

I think the path took it over northern France, but what happened up here in Lancashire?

Yeh remember that happened end of August 1999 was in Blackburn, just got out of my appointment in time to see it - luckily a lovely day for viewing:D

Thanks, had to crop it hard though, only got a 300mm lens so no-where near filling the frame

No body got a telephoto web cam they can set up so we can show the cloud bound people what we can see.....
