Female logic, totally nonsensical, as usual.

Whens the next AccyWeb meet? Perhaps we could invite Clr Britcliffe? The Council employ people to monitor this site btw.

I would fully understand this topic if it were discussing the taxi drivers in Spain.
The Spanish Drivers have a complete control of the system.
Corruption does not enter the senario.
Good driver you maybe but if you are not a Spanish National and cannot speak fluent Spanish you will not be considered for a licence.

I think the same rules should be applied in the UK.
I have not come across the situation where a British Bus Driver has been offered a position in Spain.
Spain for the Spanish seems to be the order of the day.

Just for the record Mancie.
Spain is governed by a socialist, protectionist government who shied away from its commitments to its EU partners.

that seems to be all in order Royboy..but most taxi drivers in Spain have basic English.. like it would be a waste of time getting into a taxi in Accy or anywhere else in Britain only to find the bloke driving can't understand what you are saying... but how many taxi drivers in this country have even basic Spanish?.. not many.

Drivers in Benidorm have basic English I agree but drivers in the rest of Spain will not understand.
Hey I understand your humour and take it as such, that is not the point.
Granting of licenses to anyone should be controlled the same way as bus licences are controlled.
The London Taxi Driver test comes to mind, or is that too polictical?
I believe thats called 'The Knowledge'?

to be honest southern spain never crossed mi mind.. I got the impression that Roy was stating that the Spanish taxi drivers need to speak Spanish...but that ain't no good to an English tourist if the cab driver don't speak any English.. and the same thing goes here. I suppose I'm saying that we all take it for granted that people understand English.
