Merlot would be a good name, but only until about ten o'clock in the evening.

After that it would be chasing it's own tail, and you'd get no sense out of it at all.;):D

Sadly Rindy this is cow and beef cattle country around here. As for pics. Mick, we've got plenty of the homestead, nutkin the baby squirrel and now of "no name but wicked expensive German Shepard/Alsation puppy biatch!":D

I will once again encourage the kids, home for spring break, to get the pics from here to there.

I say they are the same breed, its just that the germans fetched em over during ther war ...hench the name german shepherd:D
but im probably wrong:o

The breed was originally the German Shepherd but in WW1 anything remotely German was deemed unacceptable in this country. Prince Louis of Battenberg changed his name to Mountbatten (literal translation) to sound English and the German Shepherd became the Alsation (Alsace was a German/French region which, at the time, was claimed by France). It's only since after WW2 that the original name started to gain ground again. The Mountbattens, however, don't seem to want to revert to their German roots! :D
