It won't make a bit of difference. A mod was in the words of another member "abusing me", he made the mistake of then carrying it on under another name he uses on accyweb thus making known who he was, the thread was deleted !!!:mad:

Well if a thread that was well constructed (not abusive) got deleted then to be honest I dont think thats fair. Moderators do a good job yes, but they shouldn't be allowed to silence peoples opinions or that creates a two tier system of people on AccringtonWeb.

The power should be used as little as possible, simply to remove really distatefull things, not to remove freedom of speach.

Of course this is all subjective and if this hasnt happened then I take it back. :p

Perhaps that was deleted in order to preserve anonymity once the person had slipped up and let it be known who they really were. I wonder sometimes if it's better for mods to be anonymous or for us to know who they are. I like knowing who they are as long as it doesn't mean they end up getting stick in real life for an online decision.

i aint crying i'm just pointing out the fact that there opinion was they objected to a moderator not playing by the rules
just because they objected to something does not mean that they should be banned

This is a privately owned forum and the Administrator set up the rules included in the rules is the fact that by signing up to be a member and be able to post on site no-one is to attack the moderators or staff, if you don't like the rules you can use your freedom of choice/speech and go elsewhere otherwise you have to accept the fact that it is a rule. The decisions that the moderators come to are not made on a whim and this situation is making a difficult job seem almost impossible.

If a member of the site has done something wrong then you can rest assured that the moderators will be looking for any proof of his/her misdemeanour and until they have that they cannot act, this does not mean that they are abusing power or that they should be abused by anyone that feels badly done by.

When I switched on this morning I had a message from a member 'bragging' about the fact that they have been banned, well all I can say is if anyone else thinks that getting yourself banned is a cool thing then perhaps accyweb isn't the place for you, leave the rest of us to get on with day to day discussion and heated differences but don't give us the need to start threads like this.:o

If someone went round telling lies, and writing to the paper, saying something about someone which wasn't true, for whatever reasons, maybe a grudge, then the law is there to prevent that from happening, and redress it if it does.

exactly day to day discussion even though heated - heated why? because someone disagrees with your point of view disagreeing with someones point of view = discussion exactly the reason for 1. being here and 2. for people being banned

I feel the need for some extreme comical wit here. Just not in any mood to attempt it. Next month will be my 1 year anniversary with Accyweb. It is ammazing how, through this modern technology, I can make "friends and even family" from across the pond.

I've learned alot from most all of you. Like how to properly use words like bugga ya, git, awkward, slag off, go sledging, ****** (not sure yet about that one but guess it's at least a hand slapper eh?). Hopefully I've been able to add a different view that various Americans have on things as well as laughter. Oh how I love the English wit.

I don't know, trying to be eloquent but it aint working. Just sorry for all the tension, hard feelings, inability and/or lack of desire to make ammends, etc.

Accyweb is what we all make it. For better or worse! I believe everyone is needed for the various input they have. So, please don't walk away. :o This too shall/can pass.

Can't be bothered to read through all this, but at the end of the day, the girls were being extremely rude and derogatory in their remarks. Much as we all love the silly twerps, they were behaving like silly school girls and had to be treated as such .... suspended for a while to allow them time to gather their thoughts together as to the damage they were doing to this site.

Zero tolerance is what the rules should be about , otherwise we will crash. :(

The post itself wasn't really as bad as all that depending on how you read it. It wasn't saying anything bad about Madeleine McCann or the hope that she will be found alive. It was more questioning what use it is for people to have avatars dedicated to her, in that it doesn't actually help find her. I know it probably sounded heartless but far worse things have been said on other forums so I think it just got out of proportion here.

It's now up to the mods how they deal with the posts which Tadah made in AccringtonBarbie's name, and in fact how they deal with the account which after all was misused.

Please please please lets just end this now and get back to normal. Whats done is done and cannot be changed no matter how much we want to. If we cant move on from this then there will be more trouble bans and disharmoney. We need to get back to where we were because to drag it out any further will be detrimental to the site. There are hurt feelings amongst the members but if we bare this as a grudge we are letting ourselves down.

While we have this one rule for one and one rule for another there will never be harmony if that's what you want. I'm not happy getting a warning when what I'm accused of doing was done to me and the member in question was not warned, (not that I complained).:confused:

To be cryptic in life there are people who where perhaps bullied when they where younger but sometimes these people return later in life to have their revenge, tax inspectors, traffic wardens and company personal officers spring to mind. I hope everyone feels better now that we’ve cleared the air a bit.
Anyways, I’m closing this thread seeing that the majority wish it so and really, threads like this are not permitted. ;)
All we ask is… please follow the forum rules and there’ll be no need to delete posts or ban members, that way we can all be friends.
