No? So fossil fuel is a long way off dead for you.

Free electricity is not compatible with our present capitalist system (based on oil/gas)]

MargaretR, you're doing it again- you're posting about a man popularly known in his time as 'The Mad Scientist'.
Wireless electricity is about transmission, not generation. You still have to make it before you can transmit it.
And nothing is free in any system.

Come on susie- you're a scientist. You know full well cheap and freely available hydrogen power is decades off. We can use it to produce power but we can't make it without using far more power than we get back. And how do we make it- break down water using- guess what!
Methane- it's only 12% hydrogen, needs expensive processing and what do you do with the 88% global warming gas you're left with.

Green campaigners are deluding themselves and condemning the rest of us. They're condemning us to less energy, more expensive energy, the loss of all power hungry industry in the UK and a massive drop in our living standards.
China is opening 2 new coal fired power stations every week and they all burn the poorest, lowest grade, most polluting coal(bituminous) available.
India plans another 450+ as soon as possible.
We only have 17 large coal fired stations and we are closing them. China will have replaced them in 2 months.
Do you think our pitiful 20% efficient wind turbines are going to make a jot of difference to that sort of CO2 output?

Of course I do, I was merely putting it up for Margaret to look at.

No but it's better to do something than nothing. I wish the powers that be would get their act together and get on with nuclear and tidal otherwise the future is pretty bleak.

You pre heat storage heaters and hot water cylinders at night and use that heat and hot water during the day.

Storage heaters have always been rubbish in my opinion, I have lived in a few houses with them.

Well, that explains it then....I have never lived in a house which had this kind of heating, but when I was working I had colleagues who used this form of heating.

No...Sue....I don't think it was that.......it was water under pressure(I wish now that I had paid a bit more attention - but I was pre-occupied with other things, namely tinlids) and it was someone who had done all the work on it in his garden shed......a lone genius.
I'm sure I didn't dream it.

PS Tesla's Tower of Power ? Damn Interesting

No, MargaretR, I didn't watch all the video, life is too short.
But I watched minute 23 to 29 and used up a large piece of what's left of my life reading the Wikipedia info.
A brillliant man but some of his ideas very far out.
If you watch that bit of the video again it's talking about transmitting massive amounts of power wirelessly from the mast, not generating it. It never claims he created power from the earth- all the power he generated came from-guess what, mains electric power or mechanically driven generators.

Oh dear, MargaretR. You've done it again!

His antenna is simply picking up EMR from a local radio or mobile phone mast. He may even be under a high voltage overhead power supply.
He's not generating anything!

We're not going to power the world that way.

Re: Windfarm anyone?

There is electricity in the atmosphere.

You believe what you want to believe.

I suspect that harnessing it is possible, and Tesla found a way.

The more I read about the devious way that his research notes were seized and disappeared at his death, the more I suspect that the new technology was a threat to the fossil fuel multinational companies.

Tesla Generator Plans
extract -
"unlike solar panels that only emit energy when placed under thе sun, thе Tesla generator uses thе sun’s radiation instead. This means that it works even in thе night, or even when it is not under thе heat of thе sun. This is because thе sun is continually radiating energy into thе earth, which is continuously emitted even in thе night.
The Tesla generator proves that thеre is so much energy in thе atmosphere and that you do not have to rely solely on thе electric companies who make so much money from you."

PS- the world isn't flat;)

Re: Windfarm anyone?

Well that webste isn't giving anything away for free...

It is difficult to find some solid copies of how to develop a Tesla generator. It is said to have been kept from thе public by thе multi-billion electric companies, with thе fear of people finding out how to create thеir own source of electricity. You will have to purchase an e-book that contains all thе Tesla generator information that you need in order to set-up your own device. With thе Tesla Generator, what may seem impossible may be a very promising way to save on electricity.

Thank heavens for a little sanity, sue.
So for only $47 we can all save hundreds of dollars a month! Hundreds of thousands are doing it!That's a lot of $47!
Sell your shares in Eon, Norweb etc. now.

I think we owe MargaretR a debt of gratitude-when she confirms her flat is powered by free electricity.
l'll lend her the $47 if necessary, she can pay me back with all that money she saves.

I would like to see one of these set ups by one of the hundreds of thousands of folks that purchased the info. But I can't be @rsed to search the www to find one. You'd think if it was so wonderful it would be a perfect small business opportunity for someone to pursue to convert one home at a time to free elec - at a price, of course.

Jaysay beat me to it-it would be a brave man who clipped one bulldog, never mind two!
Still, clipping a bulldog might be a better way of generating a charge than some of MargaretRs ideas.

that meter reading hit 20v which is enough to charge most laptops :D

i think that particular phone he charged only needs 5v
