Re: Olympic Logo
They could have used the Tories old torch logo, now they are no longer carrying it, and are no longer conservative.:D

Re: Olympic Logo
It gets worse - part of the promo video will have to be scrapped because it has caused people to have epyleptic seizures!

Re: Olympic Logo
I think the epileptic seizures took place when it was being designed.

Factually incorrect. The issue with the VAT was between 2 different Government departments, the Treasury and the DCMS. In theory its all Government money so the charging (or not) of VAT is purely a paper exercise, but like everything else in this Country, the press and public are very quick to knock down whatever they can. |

So the Olympics won't benefit the rest of the UK? Is the football going to be played at Old Trafford? (answer - yes) Are athletes and spectators all going to stay in London?(answer - no. They will stay in various parts of the UK, athletes will need facilities to train on and get used to English weather', spectators and tourists will not all be able to stay in London. I am sure many will enter the country through Manchester or Liverpool and stay in the North West and travel down to see the games) Will all the jobs go to people in London? (answer - no - A North West firm has won the tender to supply all the toilet roll for the Olympics, they will need extra staff to meet the demand.) Is the logo any good?(answer - in my opinion its not that good, bbc website has some very good alternatives sent in by members of the public which I think are better) |

Ok, yes. But at the point I am referring to it is in the Governments hands. The point was more aimed at the fact it is not the mistake of Seb Coe and his bid team, but the Government. |

Don't forget the Weymouth and Portland sailing events. When I did a catering exhibition in Bournemouth couple of months ago, the hotel owners were already predicting full occupancy and buying from UK companies, which will have a huge knock on effect to other industries. e.g. crockery, cutlery, food , linen/textile , furniture, entertainment, you name it, it was there. |

The original principle of the games is for nation to compete against nation (for the honour of competing), not to see who is daft enough to be ripped off by buying a really naff baseball cap with a stupid logo on it. |
