None whatsoever. Do you think they would still be here if they weren't making money out of us? It's them that owe the population of Accrington some loyalty for keeping them in business over the years.

With majority stakes in everything from the Trafford Centre to John Lennon Airport, I'm guessing leafy Cheshire, rather than Hyndburn.:D

Welcome to Peel Holdings

Are they not providing employment, at the Whitebirk site?

Re: Whitebirk planning application.

From the poll it would seem that 'the town centre will suffer' are leading, this means that all who voted No to peel holdings support Accrington Town Centre.
Ok, travelling in to Accrington town centre, what am I faced with.
Coming along Blackburn road..............what a mess, do you not think this needs cleaning up / sorting out before the town centre.
Coming along Hyndburn road...............traffic delays, cars turning right at the Mcdonald entrance ? thought that was no right turn.
I could go on and on, the roads in to Accrington need sorting out before they even think of sorting out the town centre. :D

Separate issues I'm afraid, and far be it from me to be a mouthpeice for HBC, but certainly Church is in the process of being developed and improved, but there are delays because of health and safety issues regarding Blythe's, as reported in last week's Observer.

Since you live over that way now, can I ask why you are so keen?

Don't think its a separate issue, its the road in to Accrington town centre.
On the Church development, I think there has always been an issue on H&S grounds so close to Blythes. May be the proposed development was just pie in the sky, yet another fat cheque for a consultant eh!

What gives you that idea, there's a comet in Blackburn, and a B&Q that sell 'white goods' in fact there's a thing B&Q placed a planning application with BwD to split their present B&Q warehouse in to sections to allow the sale of other than white goods, in the main furniture etc. The underlying tone of the application was that if BwD did not grant the application they, meaning B&Q would pull out of Blackburn. Hows that for an explanation of why I am so interested. ;);)

Kind sir, that is very good of you, I will use the pic on my letters as a header.

Since I am now a non-smoker I have more money to spend in Accy town centre in the "new shops" or even at the Whitebirk retail park

Still waiting for something to happen at Whitebirk, I did read however that Peel Holdings the owners of the retail park at Whitebirk are taking Hyndburn BC to high court..........that should be interesting and cost a lot
