Grumpy Old Men

People are getting paid to publish this rubbish.
Trust the Americans........You have got to have a simple streak to understand American humour anyway.

Well it has at least reassured me that I'm not senile yet. I was beginning to wonder this morning. :D

I HAVE NO PLANS TO LOSE MY SENSE OF HUMOR!!!!!

Without my humour I wouldnt be who I am so if I should lose it I hope an effort will be made to find it. ;)

There is a lack of humour in some older gentlemen and that might be down to the fact that over the years humour has change so people might not understand it anyway. What is humourous to 1 individual may not be to another so this study might be flawed and have nowt to do with congnitive deficiences.

I have a friend in her 80s and she has a brilliant sense of humour. She is also very active and very intelligent. I think I probably need to work at keeping my brain alive.

We see enough Grumpy Old Men type behaviour to know that it is not -
a sense of humour lost, but
a sense of self importance gained ;)

Must be a bit dodgy in your circle of friends?
Lots of sweet old ladies with forked tongues are just as bad.

I think you will find that the old ladies who are sweet are the ones without a grumpy old man to put up with :D

Well ---- If you were my 'Grumpy Old Man' I think that I would have a tongue like a Medusa's head :D

My sense of humour would not run to being your 'Grumpy'.
The sweet lady without forked tongue I've got, will do for me thank you.

So? -- I wasn't asking --- or looking for one -- an elderly tom cat is one grumpy enough for me to put up with. (I feel a new thread coming on -- 'The joys of being single' ) :D

Re: Grumpy Old Men

I know my old man has become more grumpy and much less tolerant as the years have advanced....maybe it is because he has to live with me :)
I also think that people are so much more sensitive these days....so the things that you could make fun of and get away with, without some sensitive soul feeling 'singled' out and 'abused', have got a bit thin on the ground.

I also have to admit that things on TV that are supposed to be funny leave me totally bemused. I know that younger people find things like Little Britain a great laugh....I find that kind of humour juvenile and a touch lavatorial....so maybe my sense of humour has degraded too.
I always have a good laugh when I am in the company of my mother......so much so that I find myself crying with laughing

Give him 2 puddings instead of one, warm his slippers, give him the TV flicker and be gentle with him...............Works with me :p

Well, I am already doing most of those things.....I wouldn't give him 2 puddings...his girth is wide enough....so i must need more practice eh?
