New Arndale Cafe

Anyone tried the Earl Grey ? Quite enjoy that brand but at £1.50 I went home for a brew.

Been past it today, and saw it was open for buisness. I refuse to pay that much for a brew, when I only live round the corner, but I did notice that they have benches outside the barriers, so that people can still sit and chat for free.

Re: New Arndale Cafe

Didn't realise it had opened. Is it just a coffee/tea stand, or a cafe?

Re: New Arndale Cafe

It looks like a little cafe, they had cake type things on display, and a very starbucksy type coffee machine.

Re: New Arndale Cafe

They sell cake and buttys don't know if they do JAM buttys though

Re: New Arndale Cafe

If a cup of tea is £1.50, then a jam butty will probably be about 10 quid.

Re: New Arndale Cafe

There coffee is over two quid a cup. Why they think we need another cafe in there is beyond me.
Bring back the clock.

Re: New Arndale Cafe

why get rid of the clock. been away for years and cant believe they have got rid of it. heard it had been broken for a couple of years. i loved that clock.

where is the clock now? Languishing in the town hall vaults, waiting for antiques roadshow to visit and deem it priceless?

You wouldn't mind as much if it was a decent cuppa - I don't think I've ever had a cup of tea at one of those types of cafes that was actually good. Can't really comment on the coffee but I expect the same goes.

Tealeaf 22-03-2004 15:27

Re: New Arndale Cafe

Santa's Grotto will be on one of them empty shops on Broadway...what do you think they're there for? All Christmas Pressy's will be a quid.
