Suprised to see no mention of this on here. Did anyone realise we are no longer residents of East Lancs but now reside in Pennine Lancashire ?

why the hell cant they just leave well alone? Any more changes like this and we will be stuck with something we hate. It could be that the gov has decided to group areas together so that they can do away with county councils and set up super councils in the same way they have up here. Oh and it dosnt always work and can be more expensive.

I don't think it's an official title. It appears to be used by the development agencies more than anyone, ie elevate, pathfinder etc.

It concerns me more that it is has the name Pennine, after all we know what other part of the country shares the pennines with us, lets just hope and pray we don't merge counties with them :)

Me I prefer boring old East Lancs. Would London change the name of the West End because it was "uncool" or not modern enough. Accrington Burnley Blackburn etc are in the east of the county!

But why is it? Does it really matter what its called? East lancashire is fine. WE are in lancashire and we are in the east area so its still east lancashire. Why bother?

On this basis does that then mean the west of Lancashire is Coastal Lancashire??
