Margrat you say you NEVER LIE. Well do I have news for you. Reckon you must have been a bad girl all these years because Father Christmas does exist.
It's naughty people that spread these nasty rumours.
You will be telling me there is no such thing has fairy's next.

Yes, noticed after I had posted, but at least you told the truth and didn't lie about your original error, which would have made me look a complete senile idiot.

Now b**ger off and enjoy your month in the sun, relaxing and de-stressing .. :p

Re: is father christmas dead?

I think it all depends on what you're told because some people have slight variations on the Father Christmas story.

For instance, I was always told that Father Christmas was more of a delivery person. So all my presents were 'sent' to him before Christmas and he delivered them all to me.

Chris on the other hand was told that Father Christmas made and delivered just one present and all the rest were bought and delivered by his Mum.

We tell our kids that Father Christmas delivers all the presents but that only one of them is from him - the rest are from us.

So, just because the woman in question said that she was buying a present for Christmas doesn't necessarily mean that she's told her kids that Father Christmas doesn't exist.

Although they say that a kid knows more than we know and they are alert to everything we do or say i dont think that kid will remember that the mother said that.
My son is 2 and although he knows that he gets presents on his bday he dont realise why and for them its just another day but with the fact that they open xmas or bday presents, they dont know whats goin on yet.
Just an opinion

I know the child wont understand at that age so why say anything? Chances are though thats the way she'll speak to her child all its life, that what I find sad, children have to grow up so quick these days without all the magic taken away from them, glad my kids have a Mum like me:)
