Re: Post Office Closures
Post Offices are depressing. I think the larger ones like in Accy should be closed and the little ones should stay open.
The large post office in Lancaster never seems to have many people in it, no more than the smaller ones anyway. I think the little ones probably get more custom but they cant do as much as the big one here. Shame really. |

Re: Post Office Closures
After what they did with the one in town we have boycotted it ( sacked everyone and replaced them with untrained low paid workers) we now always use the one on avenue parade, where the staff are much more helpful and friendly.:D

Re: Post Office Closures
On economic grounds, I don't kow why Church PO is on the hitlist. Every time I have popped in there has been at least one person waiting to be served and several times I've had to wait a good 10 minutes or so. There was a rumour some time ago that it was due to move elsewhere in Church, but I suspect that will come to nowt. Its a case again of moving services out of Church - we lost our banks years ago, more than half our pubs have gone, the libary has gone...the butcher, the barber..all gone. I suppose the only good news after this is that there will be nowt else to lose.

It seems strange that they leave that one open and it's so close to the main Post Office in Accrington yet there are to be closures in places like Belthorn, Huncoat and Hapton where their Post Office is the only one. :( |

Think could be something to do with the lottery ? .. only place in Hyndburn you get a payout if you win over £500. The General does not do this. |

Re: Post Office Closures
Some 59 branches across Lancashire, Fylde and Southport have been earmarked for closure under the Post Office Ltd proposals.
Six will be replaced with so-called "outreach solutions" - scaled down post office services in pubs or local shops - in a move likely to be met with stiff opposition from councils and communities. Dozens of Post Offices set to be axed - Chester standard 'So that's two pints of lager, one salt 'n' vinegar crisps, two pork scrathings, and one renewed car tax?' |
Re: Post Office Closures
Do I see a pattern here? Ramsbottom, Edenfield, Whalley, Clitheroe, Wilpshire, Langho, I think there are more post offices in these 'expensive' locations than most!
