Mum used to put them on a plate over pan of simmering water with another plate on top. I never did this just served them as I did them .. ok .. meant weren't all getting them at once, but meant hot and fresh.

Anyone any suggestion which wine goes best with 'em ? ..:D

by the time one is cooked their is someone standing next to me like oliver twist, i cant personally help you with the wine as i dont drink, i would say something sweet as it will go with the sugar on the pancakes

LOL .. yeh, know what you mean Jacky .. line of family holding plates.
Never much fun for Mum, is it.

Don't like sweet wine, will have to be a dry white I think .. can't see a red sitting very well with it. Maybe Rose a compromise... oh well, will just have to try all three to see which is best I suppose.

We had our pancake day yesterday due to the kids being out tonight. Every Monday we have a Family Night (It's a Mormon thing known as Family Home Evening) so this week we called it 'Family home Pancake Monday' :D

Word of warning to anyone who has never used one of those shaker bottles before and is planning on doing so this year - you really need to shake very vigorously. We used two of them for the first time and have decided never again. We got stuck lumpy bottoms.

That's a lovely thing to do Willow, even if not religious based.

took your advice on the shaker, thanks as it does get clogged up,
its the 1st time i have used the shaker and the mix is alot thicker than the packet pancake mix, had a good time making them with the kids and the smoke set off the smoke alarm , kids shot off out the patio door, but all was good, next time i will turn the heat down a bit
