Raf Told To Down Dress
Raf Staff Have Be Told To Wear Civillian Cloths When Going Into The City Of Peter Borough After Abuse From Some Members Of The Public Who Are Those People I Think I Can Guess BBC NEWS | England | Cambridgeshire | Brown condemns no-uniform advice

Re: Raf Told To Down Dress
I just cant get my head round this at all. If you disagree with any of the conflicts, thats fine, be that Iraq or wherever but surely you cant start beating up the service men and women eho form part of our armed forces!
There was a day, and im thinking of older relatives here, where an ex serviceman could go into a british legion bar or other local pub and never have to spend a penny (and ive seen it) because people recognised the bravery and sacrafice - that being said, these were people who fought in a world war - so I could anticipate any argument that things are different. |
Re: Raf Told To Down Dress
spot on mikesz, this situation should never be.IMHO.

Re: Raf Told To Down Dress
I dont know why they do it. They expect them to protect them in times of war etc so why not show respect to members of the forces when they are out and about. If they disagree with iraq and afghanistan then lobby their mps and parliament not the people who are out there doing their job.

Re: Raf Told To Down Dress
Since when has verbal abuse bothered your average airman?
|
Re: Raf Told To Down Dress
think the powers that be in the forces are being very silly taking this view,it should be soley at the discretion of the serving guys wether they choose to wear uniform or not.

Re: Raf Told To Down Dress
ppl say oh they have a mind they choose to go to iraq etc
no they dont they're doing their job it was ur local mp/politicial that decided to go to war - throw some abuse at them! |

Re: Raf Told To Down Dress
From what I heard this morning on BBC Breakfast the abuse was by anti war protesters. Its not the troops who these peole should be having a go at its the people who sent them to Iraq and Afghanistn in the first place

Re: Raf Told To Down Dress
Servicemen and women not allowed to wear their uniforms in their own country? What sort of madhouse are we creating here? Are we shortly going to be seeing the Houshold Divisions Trooping the Colour in civies?

Re: Raf Told To Down Dress
they should be cheered not abused if my grandfather suffered to the germans the afganistans should suffer to us the accy pals of years ago fought for nothing the world is a mess and we are as bad as anywhere now

Re: Raf Told To Down Dress
go back to 1945 there was no trouble here enock warned us if ever there was a true statment from the goverment it was that
|
Re: Raf Told To Down Dress
I'm just glad the people throwing abuse is nothing to do with the large number of iraq's and afghans moving in to Peterborough over the past 5 years

Re: Raf Told To Down Dress
Disgusting it is.....
If it was not for our armed forces, the morons who say otherwise would not have the freedom of speech. These people put their lives on the line for our country and deserve to be treated with the greatest of respect. They should be very proud. :D |
Re: Raf Told To Down Dress
I agree with it. When i was in the army and still now it is against regulations to wear uniform out of camp unless permitted.
