Boy, 16, admits park attack murder

16-year-old has pleaded guilty to the murder of 20-year-old Sophie Lancaster, the goth in the park.
The boy, who cannot be named because of his age, admitted murdering and causing grievous bodily harm to her boyfriend.

why oh why do they do it?,
is it the parents fault or is it all down to drugs or booze. because i havent a bloody clue!

Another thing thats winds me up to is not naming the little bastard who did it, just because hes underage:mad:...bollocks:mad:...sorry for language:rolleyes:

P.S...he was 15 years old when he did it!!

I think the judge waits until he is sentenced before deciding he can be named. There is another lad who has denied the murder and they will have to wait until the end of the trial so it doesn't prejudice him by naming his friend. I'm sure we have a law expert who will tell us if thats correct.

That is correct, I guess it's because it's worse to taint a childs name before they are proven guilty than with an adult, though personally I think it should be like that with all accused persons.

I think the naming of an underage thug is only at the discretion of the judge, but with most judges being liberal minded they only name in rare circumstances, the killers of James Bulger were named as was Mary Bell, but I'll be very surprised if these little scrots are

You have to remember that Thompson and Venables where also tried in an adult court, so their case was a bit more unique than the average child case.

I've always been undecided as to whether the reintroduction of the death penalty would be be a good thing. It's the likes of these two low-lifes who make me think it would.

Ive read all about this in the rossendale free press back in august when it happened and when they arrested them and again now theyve gone to trial. Was listening to the radio and they say the youngest one who is 15 when he was in court him and his mum were laughing.

Now it was all on the news that the police chief is blaming some of their parents for this happening they havent brought them up right. No sense of discipline and no respect for others.

But what has got me more is this what Rob Maltby said he wishes that she had left him to die ran off so she would still be alive today and also that boys dont hit girls, men dont hit women - they seem to have broken every moral rule.

No morals worse than an alley cat - is what has been said in interviews with people from bacup.

Are they proud of themselves - they've now got all this publicity i wonder what its going to be like when they get to prison?
