A £25 million hit relating to the cost of closing the stores meant bottom-line profits fell 72% to £10.8 million." Shame for the shareholders, but an even bigger shame for the people that will loose their jobs. Have we not a JJB in Accrington centre, will that be another closure?? who knows |

Apparently most closures will be where there is a Sports Direct shop close by or in towns where there are multiple stores. The Accy one will probably be able to carry on being rubbish :) |
Re: Ethel Austins gone into administration
From what i can gather JJB wouldn't make employer of the year.
JJB Sports workers fight “first world sweatshop" | Workers' Liberty mind you if your staff aren't on your side how do you continue your success???? |
Re: Ethel Austins gone into administration
was in JJB today in Accy and i asked one of the lads behind the counter about this and he said, they are doing away with the small shops so the one in Accy is safe as are the ones in Blackburn apparently

Accrington is a large shop ? Maybe the member of staff concerned needs to visit a few other JJB's before he realises it's probably one of the smallest stores :D |
