Magazine Competitions

Does anyone ever enter any of these?

Has anyone on here ever won anything out of these mags?

my aunt down in Felixstowe entered one a couple of years back and won a holiday to the Carribean, she never went, she ended up giving it to her friend

i've just started doing the Take a Break and Thats Life competitions this week, i entered them online so it doesnt even cost you anything to enter them now (other than the cost of the mag of course)

I used to enter them all the time, Ian used to moan about the cost of the stamps. I know of a girl who won a trip to Sydney for the milennium, so worth having a go. Might start entering on-line as you say it costs nothing!!!

My Mum used to enter these every week. I used to buy her about 10 mags for her to do the comps......at first she did win things...never anything very much....M&S Vouchers, cosmetics, dog food....but no trips or cars.
Anyway she reckons that it is the folk online who do all the winning, and as she isn't computer literate, she has given up entering....she says she can't win a carrot since it all went electrical.

My eldest daughter entered one of those phone-in things, where you just give your name and address, in a Sunday paper's magazine. She and her partner are keen motor cyclists and the comp was for a very classy motor scooter. She completely forgot about it until about 6 months later when she got a phone call to say she had won it. It was worth about £2000.

I used to enter the take-a-break ones and the odd occasional comp but have never been lucky enough to win anything :(

I found a discarded Big Issue on the tube, and on reading it found I knew the answers to a quiz, so sent off the entry form.

I won two tickets to a film premiere, and a set of books about the cinema.:o

I did actually buy a copy of the Big Issue sometime after that...I think.:D

Used to have the radio on all day when I was at home with the kids when they were pre school. Now they are both older I work part time during the day so don't tend to have the radio on.

Will have to change that now lol

Re: Magazine Competitions

I went through a stage of entering Take a break, but never won anything.

The only comp I have won was the Photo one on here tother day :o ... I was so proud.

Oh tell a lie, I once won a Singing comp on holiday. Me and a fella I didn't know had to sing Dirty Dancing. I think we only won because, he jumped off the stage at the end, and I ( had a few to drink ) jumped off in true DIRTY DANCING style. We got the loudest of applauses :) But the funny thing was, as I was in mid flight towards this fella, I noticed that he had severe cross eye!! I just closed my eyes and hoped for the best :o

When I was a child in the 1980s I won a Pound Puppy (remember those:D) in a Junior League competition in the Observer.

A couple of weeks later I entered another Junior League competition in the Observer and won a Paul Daniels magic set.

I haven't won anything since. :(

The Pound Puppy is still around though. My son has it in his room now. :D
