Kids and Bedtime
Why is it when you send a child to bed they never go to sleep when they are told to?
Reece usually goes to bed at 8 and i let him watch tv till 9 (on school nights) i tell him to turn the tv off at 9, so could anyone possibly explain to me why he is still awake? He does this often, i take his tv off him and he starts messing about with his mobile, i take that off him and he gets up and goes downstairs to get 'something out of the fridge' NOW HE'S REARRANGING HIS BEDROOM :mad: if you lot in Accy hear a loud BANG in the next few minutes, dont worry about it, it'll be me banging my head against the brickwork he starts his s.a.t.s on Monday and i'm gonna make sure he'll be in bed for 7, no telly and no mobile, even if i have to strap him to the bed ;) (that was a joke by the way) |

Re: Kids and Bedtime
The most annoying thing is that they then struggle to get up in the morning!

ohhhhhh yessss, my alarm goes off at 7.45am, he manages to stroll into my bedroom at around 8.15am then has only 30 minutes to get a bath, brush his teeth, get dressed and have his breakfast |
Re: Kids and Bedtime
Its summer now the nights are lighter he wont go to sleep because its not dark. Sis used to have a blind on the kids windows as well as curtains during the summer she'd pull them both to make sure its dark enough. Also he's 11 - when i was 11 i went to bed at 9 but read for an hour after going to bed. Maybe hes going to bed too soon as well flashy and that extra hour running around might tire him out a bit more.

Re: Kids and Bedtime
I don't have a problem at bedtime, thank God.
Up to now my two have been very good at going to bed. They don't mess about and they don't complain. They go at 7.30pm on school nights and 8pm on weekends without a fuss. They have even been known to ask to go to bed if 8pm comes and I haven't made a move. Mine are younger than Reece though, they are 7 and 4. Maybe it will change as they get older. |
