Don't they also have a service at Asda whereby the disabled person sits in the car and they provide a personal shopper :D

The story is in the Observer, apparently her Mum used to bring the scooter out to the car but Asda are saying they are not insured for outside use. They have said they will happily get a member of staff to help the lady into the store and back to her car. Just can't allow scooters to be used outside.

There isn't anything wrong with it, but as Bernie said it's in the Observer. Must be this weeks half baked story . Whats the betting it's the same reporter as the butty shop story and the other one last week which I can't remember :)

Me neither by the sounds of it there was no complaint made at Asda but the lady is saying friends have been given different reasons as to why the scooters can't be used outside. Just an excuse for a moan instead of complaining at the store or asking for alternative help:(

Are you referring to the JB shopping method of parking in the disabled bays while the able bodied shopper goes inside :rolleyes:

sorry didnt mean a scooter, mean any kind of mobility device...how do they get around when they are not as asda?

dont disabled people get help with mobility?

According to the story she doesn't get out on her own but shopping at Asda gives her a bit of independence

Mobility Allowance, now DLA, is only payable if your inabilty (or difficulty) to walk began before age 65
