These have always been security tagged and I think it often depends on the staff / greeter on at the time but am sure that if they were to request that they were "escorted" out to the car then they would do this, we have never had any problems in the past when we have asked for this for my mum

I would also guess that if you asked them for a member of staff to push the stuff out to the car in a normal trolley they would as well.

What happens when they get the shopping home, how does it get out of the car in to the house ?

Don't they also have a service at Asda whereby the disabled person sits in the car and they provide a personal shopper :D

The story is in the Observer, apparently her Mum used to bring the scooter out to the car but Asda are saying they are not insured for outside use. They have said they will happily get a member of staff to help the lady into the store and back to her car. Just can't allow scooters to be used outside.

There isn't anything wrong with it, but as Bernie said it's in the Observer. Must be this weeks half baked story . Whats the betting it's the same reporter as the butty shop story and the other one last week which I can't remember :)

Me neither by the sounds of it there was no complaint made at Asda but the lady is saying friends have been given different reasons as to why the scooters can't be used outside. Just an excuse for a moan instead of complaining at the store or asking for alternative help:(

LOL .. yes, it is the same reporter as both stories, the butty shop and the goat story, she must think she is Defender of the People with certain leanings to the informant. Story not up on web-site yet, but this is her:-

According to the story she doesn't get out on her own but shopping at Asda gives her a bit of independence

Well that explains a lot. I think she probably did this story as well.
