Idiots in a car

 This afternoon I was in town and waiting to cross Blackburn Road towards the Observer offices. There was a car just coming round the roundabout to come back along Blackburn Road and as I crossed it sped up. There were young lads leaning out of the windows making "bbbbbrrrrrrrmmmmmmmmm! roooooooooarrgh!" noises as they shot past me, barely missing me although I was almost on the pavement and the one in the back at the left hung so far out of the window laughing his stupid head off that I thought he was going to fall out! They didn't even slow down as they shot through the 'give way' road markings. If a car (with right of way) had been following the road round and up Eagle Street they would have slammed straight into it. Absolute idiots. I suppose they thought it was funny to see how close they could get to me without hitting me.

Unfortunately they were so fast I couldn't focus on the number plate but it was a white or cream coloured car with a black vynil top.

Was behind em but never noticed em being stupid tho so probably wasn't them

Maybe it was them and maybe they'd calmed down a bit when you saw them. Maybe they'd had one sobering 'close call' too many.

I hear idiots spouting rubbish as they pass all the time, seems that its so boring here that they have to do something to liven up the day :D

Yes that was the sort of car it was. I wouldn't mind if it was just a case of 'spouting rubbish as they pass' but they sped up as if they were actually trying to run me down.

Re: Idiots in a car

There are many groups of idiots in cars. I must have an unusual incident that happened to me about 3 years ago. As I was walking up Moscow Mill St. a car stopped ( with 4 youths )and asked me where a place was.
They pointed to a book who the front passenger was holding. As I went to look one of them threw a cup of soup in my face.
I was not pleased to say the least. My vision was impaired as my glasses were coated with the thick soup. As they laughed and started to move away I hit there passenger rear window with my hand, which did nothing. I then used my elbow - MAGIC. They then sped away with glass all over them.

What's the point? I don't know the reg of the car and can't even say for certain what make it was, just the general appearance which was something like this:

The point being that others may have been subjected to the same as you or witnessed yours or similar incidents, noted the reg. etc. Any info would help the police in their cause. That was my line of thought.

In my experience if you haven't any specific details to report the police regard it as wasting their time.

Irrespective of how the police would view the matter, if such an incident had happened to me I’d make sure that the incident went on record.
