I dont think you will get a favourable response to that one Steve from the politicans
We are expected to toe the line and not question the good offices of our betters...In a pigs eye.
We are sheep in the eyes of our national politicians and frowned upon by local politicians....Opinion does not count at a local level or national level and questions are answered by questions which have no relevence.
I think the EU sucks and the countries that have benefitted from EU grants have made a right town halls of it, Malta being one.
I asked a question in another thread ' Where has the money gone'
Money was paid to Malta to build a new motorway, the motorway has not been built but the money has gone...'where has the money gone'?

Not surprised, the EU is riddled with corruption and freeloading, so much so that its own auditors have refused to sign the accounts off for 12 years running. Labour, Tory and LibDem politicians don't want to talk about that, because it's an uncomfortable truth that they'd rather sweep under the carpet!

Its evident that this guy didn't know the magic word ASYLUM, they would have to let him stay while they looked into his claim then when he was refused he just have to do what the rest of the failed asylum seekers do stick two fingers up and get on with their lives:(

A Mexican national who told airport immigration he was visiting Britain to see a friend was swiftly deported after a search unearthed a good-luck card in his luggage wishing him well for his "new life in the UK."Border Agency officers at Manchester Airport routinely stopped the 40-year-old chef after he arrived on a flight from Los Angeles last Friday.
The man told them he was on a short trip to see a friend who was opening a restaurant in the area.
"However, a search of the passenger's baggage revealed a huge collection of Mexican food recipes and a good-luck card from his church wishing him well for his 'new life in the UK,'" the agency said in a statement.
The man later admitted he had intended to work at the restaurant illegally and had planned to bring his family over from America if he liked it.
He was deported the next day.
"We will not tolerate people coming here to work illegally," the agency said. "People wanting to visit the UK must play by the rules. Those who do not are sent back."

If he'd have worn a different hat the chances are he wouldn't have been spotted on the radar.

I saw on the news this morning that France are considering just opening thier borders and letting all the illegals through, in response to asking the British government to make Britain less appealing (remove the benefits etc), and also asked that we patrol our own borders properly to save the French having such a lot to do, I cant argue with them, we have been the laughing stock for far too long, seems we are doing very little other than inviting more immigrants, while the French know we should be curbing it, so, is this the human rights brigade again, or ignorant government? Beats me either way! We cannot afford this, especially at the moment.

Derek I think you will find that this senario is not true.
Britain can deport illegals to the port of embarkation and that means France.

Nut - Shell Wynonie, Royboy, being able to deport people is one thing, but doing it, or not allowing as many accross the border in the first place, I think, are a world away from what the government would have us believe, I would say that the news/French reports are, for a change, more accurate than government spin.

Can someone tell me why the French allow these camps to exist in the first place , are these people legally in France ? if not , should be easy enough to round them up and ship them out , not like they have disappeared into the 'black economy'
