What's the point of getting sober when you have to get drunk again?

He almost makes you want to be out there, living the simple life....Eric where do women feature in this idyllic mountain life you lead? Can we do the hunting and fishing with you, or are we waiting at home for you to come home with the kill? :D

Women don't figure in my idyll ... dumped the last one three years ago ... actually at 7:30 pm, on May 6, 2006; given a few minutes I could tell you to the second:eek: But who's bitter, not I;) ... "home with the kill" ... mmmm, sounds downright blood spattered ... have to admit, that most of hunting involves going to a hunting camp with a few buddies and having a major party ... with our group, we have a designated semi-sober guy who makes sure that the guns and ammo are safely out of reach.:theband: Fishing is fun tho' ... and we still have no shortage of fish. And yes, life here in the colonies is simple ... simply fantastic.:theband:

I think your wrong on both counts, only one person being rude in this thread and that's the person that started it.

All she has to do to get the thread back on an even keel is clarify her first post, let people know clearly what her own opinions on the subject are. Oh, and stop being pretentious!

is it just me that suspects some kinda political connection here? political animals always tend to evade the question that many are asking.:D

planetsusie 20-03-2009 15:07

Re: Do you think

Okay fair enough
I haven't offered a personal opinion on this
I should have done that when asked, sorry
I'm much in the same frame as a few others on here that I may have dispute and fall outs with family members but if someone else attacks them I jump in to defend them
My responses to a family members troubles are more active too in so much as I will dash over there to help when asked rather than just call them or arrange a time to visit.
I also get unreasonably angry when someone criticises a family member (even when they may be right) haha
Oh and I don't delete them from my phone book when they do something mean to me or let me down, I make excuses up for them cos I want to believe in them

Some of you are also very witty and I have laughed out loud reading back a few of the amusing responses, thanks for that. A smile is always good.

I can assure you there aren't any psychological analysis here or political connections here, I'm not shady enough

Oh n I dont live in Hull.. haha ...That isn't West Yorkshire, (well. Might be my geography is rubbish) I live in the Dewsbury area which is about 7 out of Leeds.

As you mention "family", I don't think that you are at all off topic.

Damn Maple Leafs lost again last night .... 3-1, in favour of the Florida Panthers .... Now, that is completely off topic;):D

The art of opening a discussion on a topic is not to do it with your own opinion but to let others post theirs first. Then after a while voice your own view.

It avoids some people from taking an opposing view just to be argumentative.

And what do you think influences the dynamic?” An odd choice of words but I understood what they meant.

Don’t be baffled Susie, its (or it’s - meaning it is) par for the course on here. The use of the apostrophe is being chipped away but that’s what happens to languages. They evolve. It’s the misuse of the apostrophe that is worrying because it shows a lack of basic education.

oh n dont correct the typo
Its a harmless non inflammatory attempt to open discussion where everyone can own a view

If your view doesn’t conform to the majority it is wrong.

Out of the 15 thousand plus members why do you think that it is the same couple of dozen or so who do the posting, drag a thread off topic with banter that is reminiscent of a chat room not a forum?

jambutty 24-03-2009 13:14

Re: Do you think

“Blood is thicker than water” according to the Oracle of all knowledge Wikipedia at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blood_is_thicker_than_water “is a German proverb (originally: Blut ist dicker als Wasser.), which is also common in English speaking countries. It generally means that the bonds of family and common ancestry are stronger than those bonds between unrelated people (such as friendship).”

I subscribe to that.

Well can see your point flashy, I know by the in fighting that went on within my mothers family, so much so that her and her sister fell out big time and never made up before she died, I haven't spoke to her myself for twenty odd years, alas I never will now she died a short time ago
