Thats the answer I get from the many people I've met, whilst doing my research on WW1 soldiers. They have all gone away delighted, that some one has given them information they thought would never be known, If I can give them a picture as well then thats all the better. One old lady in Accrington Library, started crying when she saw her Grandfather for the first time.

My grandparents ... especially as both grandparents on my dads side died before i was even a twinkle in my dads eyes .. my mum never met my dads parents they'd died before they met. Also my grandad on my mums side - he died when i was 2 so i cant remember him at all.

I don't want to know what my ancestors think of life now........I would like to know how they met......who the important people in their life were......and why they were important.
I would like to know how they handled the hard life and the disappointments....and how they overcame the difficulties and how they had fun.
I would like to know who didn't get on with who, and about the petty(or not so petty squabbles) in their lives.
All families have them don't they.
Alas, it is too late for me to ask all these questions.......and when we meet up again......I'm not sure that all this stuff will be important anymore.

Without wishing to appear too narcisstic, I'd quite like to have a conversation with the seven year old me. It'd be really interesting to see how you'd changed, and if you liked the younger you.:D

I've always made an effort to tell my nearest and dearest what I wanted them to know, and I consider myself lucky in that regard, but if time travel wan't an obstacle I'd love to have a conversation with my eight great grandparents, none of whom I knew, but I know quite a lot about them, and it would be interesting to form my own opinion of them.
