Good news about the IMF being topped up, though. At least there'll be something there, when we go cap in hand to them!

very true.. the Tory party has been slagging off anything from the EU.. and yet they bow down and beg the Germans and French to come up with anything that could be an advantage to their policy of slashing spending on infrastucture and rebuilding.. they have nothing to offer this economy let alone the world.. the same old cut slash burn polocies they have again adopted is a road to more misery..history has shown the Tories would sell your ass and than their own to anyone if they could gain power.

Nothing is preventing people from agreeing with European countries. What I have issue with is being governed by Europe on issues we don't agree with.

Don't know if you've noticed, Mancie, but the majority of ordinary people in this country are "slagging off" a lot of things that emanate from the EU. However, they are denied the opportunity to make their feelings known because your precious government have broken their promise to give us a referendum on the Lisbon Treaty/European Constitution (call it what you will...it amounts to the same). Call, that democracy, Mancie?
