Police Chief quits over Terror Bungle

Britains most senior anti terror police officer Asst. Commissioner Bob Quick, has resigned after putting a huge anti terror operation in jeopardy. Where do they get these blokes from, he walks down Downing Street holding a top secret document on an anti terror investigation, details of which could be clearly seen when photographed by the Paps. As a result anti terror raids in the North West (some to close to home for me) had to be brought forward before information could leek out, its more like Keystone Cops.:(

Yes affluent Clitheroe is becoming quite a centre for shocking new stories.

First the Tesco blackmail bomber, and now arrests of terrorist suspects in the town.

Makes Hyndburn appear serene and safe.

Can't see your point wadey, it may just help in stopping these bombers if those in charge weren't walking about with top secret documents on display for the worlds press to see. It actually showed a close up of these documents on the BBC news last night with details blacked out. No doubt there were others there who could just as easily passed on the info to those being targeted. Not long ago there was a bloke prosecuted for leaving documents on a train under the OSA, and the info in these documents wasn't incriminating or a cause for concern. One would think that documents such as these would be better carried in a brief case and not under the arm for the worlds press to see:(

Well time will tell if they do, and why would they say they did when they didn't?

It now appears that 11 of the 12 arrested are in this country on Student Visas. GB has said the Pakistan government should do more to weed out these extremist before they are granted these visas, the Pakistan Envoy has replied saying its our problem and we should sort it out. Seeing there are 10,000 of these visas issued to Pakistan students every year, I could answer the Envoy quite easily:rolleyes:

And I could answer easily...the only authority that can allow visas to this country are the Government of the UK..that means every visa.....citizens of the USA, Canada, Africa,Austrailia, ...on and on..Pakistan or any Nation cannot give out visas.. and Visas for education were at an all time high in the early 80's ...I would have thought someone as learned as yourself Jaysay would have known ...just a bit blinkered eh?

Times have changed Mancie, in the 80s students wanted to come here to learn not to blow the living daylights out of use. The issuing of visas is a two way effort, we issue the visa the country of origin provide the background information, I know the hoops my daughter had to go through to get her visas for Thailand, China, and Vietnam. If governments can't do this then its better to be safe than sorry, better to withhold 10,000 visas than to let people through under false pretenses, which eventually causes the death of British citizens. We also didn't have 250000 asylum (benefit tourist) seekers back in the 80s neither, which is also a drain on our vetting systems. Its always better to look at the whole picture, rather just from a one sided slanted perspective

Apparently the Father of one of those arrested has been speaking in Pakistan saying that he cannot believe he's a terrorist and that he's innocent. He says he knows him well, (hope so he's his Dad!), he's an Avid Cricketer, and whats more they never discussed The Taliban in their house!!...Phew, thats made me rest easier now!!

If I remember rightly Taggy, didn't the families of the people who committed the London Bombings say exactly the same. Don't suppose kids when they are growing up, sitting round the dinner table, just pipe up and say, "oh by the way I've decided on my career I'm going to be a Bank Robber, or a Porn Star" Do parents actually know for sure just what their kids are thinking and planning, well I'm a Father and I haven't got a clue and never have had, I'm not a mind reader or are other parents for that matter.
