General Election - Do you think the time is now?

Before we get intervention from the resident Nanny....I think yes.
How the hell can the UK go forward with this bunch of Cretins?

Re: General Election - Do you think the time is now?

Well most MP's will be pooping their pants at the thought of a general election because of what that would mean for them. They will have to face the very people that they have been robbing blind and I dont meen tax either. I would hazzard a guess that at least 40% could end up being binned by the electorate. The General Election when it comes will with luck force change in the house and there will be a new era. Well I hope so anyway.

Most of them will be deselected by their party before they even get to contest their seat.

Candidates are selected by local members of the party they represent.

Brown won't call an election beacuse the chances of Labour getting a majority are Zero! the best possible result would be a hung Parliment, but even that is clutching at straws...as far as I'm concerned he can leave it until the last possible moment. God help low earners and pensioners when the Tories do get in!

There all dead apart from Ken Livingston and The beast of Balsover.
Tony Benn is still with us but a bit past it.
New Labour was the ticket and it went tits up in the first year.
Bring back John Prescott if you like but.............come on.
For the younger generation please explain who would be your Labour saviour?

Is that even though he cant save himself. Time he realised that the country comes first. A quick general election which I would llike to see would mean defeat and he dosnt want that. Need a good docter to sort this out.

Ok I am wishing for the impossible but inthe end but miracles happen. They seem to forget we employ them and we can sack them as well. Pity they dont have to follow the disiplinary rules we do at work.

Thats the point I am trying to make Spuggie.
We are all governed by rules and if these rules are abused...heads must roll.
I am not a lover of the chosen few and think they should be accountable as you and I are.
I am of the opinion that the Junta is coming to an end?

Why swap your deckchair when you're on the Titanic?

The opposition are firmly settled in their role. Now the Tories have a shiny new GMTV-friendly leader, and are free from any real responsibility, the saddle on the political high horse is the most comfortable it's ever been.

This country craves effective leadership and stability through these tough times, and there's no electable party to offer that.

i'll go along with that Shaker..it's almost like just handing over a crap company to a new buyer..and it's still a crap company!

That's not the only problem. Thanks to that dipstick Prescott easing of the restrictions on postal voting then many of the votes that will be cast will be illegal votes anyway, through a combination of multiple voting and identity theft. Some people call it democracy, Pakistan style, but I just call it an outrage.

An absolute shame really isn't it?

After all the majority of us including women didn't get the vote until 1928, Oh, how our forefathers, (is there a term for the women that fought for the vote that would be P.C.?), would weep about the hardships they suffered for this, 'I can't give a Monkeys society'?

Aye, you're right there, Less. Women starved themselves for the vote and one of 'em even chucked herself under the Kings horse in the Derby...just think of the poor nag, and even worse, the unlucky punters and the money they may have lost. And now these women are saying they ain't going to vote!

The PV system was there for the use of people with ill health, working away, house removal, university students, special late vote (admittance to hospital. there was nothing wrong with that system, and i hasn't had the effect Prescott wanted i get more people to vote, now the system is open to abuse especially the proxy side of the pole:(
