Re: Tripe.

Way back I used to eat it, I haven’t had any for a long time now.
Its one of those kind of foods you don’t want to look at to closely while your eating it.
I much prefer it bleached rather than in its raw state black.
I would eat it again just never get round to buying any.

My father used to eat it with vinegar...but it's not for me.

Is it still a common sight in butcher's shop windows, or Tesco ? and what's the current price ? £4 a tonne ?

Who on earth decided to take the lining of a cow's stomach, bleach it white, cover it in vinegar and then eat it??????????????

Yuck, I worked in a supermarket down south 35 years ago, and we sold tripe, but now, NO ONE in that area sells it! I have noticed that the north "sells" obscure meat cuts NOW that the south stopped selling many years ago, do they know something we don't...

I absolutely LOVE pigs trotters, Do you have them Ooop 'ere?? They stopped selling them 20 years ago in the south!

Tripe is certainly something you do not SEE in the south. However, what the eye does not SEE, will be in the sausages, along with other choice cuts of meat from the lips to the bum...

I like tripe! I used to have it cold with lots of pepper and vinager accompanied by a plate of hot chips and Warburtons bread loaded with Lurpak butter. A full 'heart-attack' meal.
