is not as though any government in the last 20 years has got tougher on serious crime though is it infact if the tories get in were supposed to hug the next wave of dilinquants

whats camerons next advice on dealing with scum?

hug a pedo or kiss a rapist perhaps?

mind you labour cant get tough on crime either becaus eif they do most of them will be slung in jail for theft

I think that the first thing that has to happen is for the Human rights of the victims to be given as much thought as those of the criminal.......if you commit a serious offence then you should have no redress to Human Rights....I know that this concept will probably bring howls of protest from those who think that we can rehabilitate these violent thugs.
Violent crime should attract harsh sentencing, and harsh prisons...how else can we show these criminals that we mean business?

was on the news only this week a "Record Prison Population" anyone with any oil in there lamp has known fer last 25 years that we need more prisons NO government has done out about that fact, the only reason its taken this long to get this"Record" is the fact many are kicked out of nick early to make room fer the next lot Bloody Pathetic!:(

The reason for the thread tittle was just to highlight another failed promise made by Blair prior to 1997:rolleyes:

Re: Tough on crime tough on the causes of crime

yeah but the tories also said they would get tougher on crime infact i think teh best attempt they ever came up with was " back to basics" and years down the line they think hugging a hoodie will now solve all teh problems lol

im afraid if you want to show labour in a bad light your going to have to choose somthing where the conservatives didnt do ust as bad lol

as for showing failed prommises by blair everyone knows that idiot started breaking promises teh second he got in power never mind failing them lol

Repeating the line 'hug a hoodie' which Cameron never actually said just brings the debate down to the gutter. The entire phrase was concocted by a newspaper.

OK, then, Andrew, here's your chance to put the record straight. Explain to us exactly how the Tories are going to get tough on crime when/if they take power?

"A stronger, more charitable society"...a vacuous phrase that could have come straight out of the T. Blair handbook.

Still, what can you expect from a party led by a lightweight Blair-alike who dresses up political opportunism as sincere conviction in a way that the master would've been proud of?

In fact Wynonie you may find that Blair was only a glove puppet, complete with cheesy grin, being work by the Spin Master General, Alistair Campbell:rolleyes:That is why Brown is so useless, Alistair's hand ain't stuck up his backside working his mouth:D
