Lancashire's Tudor Rose
 

The new Conservative administration on Lancashire County Council has introduced a Tudor Rose logo to replace the Red Rose that is seen as being too close to the Labour Party logo.

They have missed a trick. The new logo should be a 14 petalled rose with two of the petals removed to represent the absence of Blackpool and Blackburn.

Either that or they should have introduced a logo showing a tin of Kennomeat to represent the complete dogs dinner that is local government in Lancashire!

i am proud of the red Rose of Lancashire - one son born in Blackburn but the second one in Sheffield. My wife and I had an agreement - i could plant a red rose but also had to plant a white one - peace was maintained.

As well as being costly, it's also wrong.

As others have said, the Tudor rose is a hybrid, uniting the roses of the houses of Lancaster, and York.

Agree, not exactly state-of-the-art, up-to-date look ... :D Still was done 'in house'...:rolleyes:

The first decision which took 3 weeks was to increase their allowances. The 2nd decision was to change the logo.

It'll cost me the same as every other poor sod in the county who's paying for it.

Having a council leader who proudly, and wrongly, proclaims that the Tudor rose is the symbol of Lancashire is cringeworthy, and shameful.
