Re: Did you
You'll get one tonight, if you want it..."we have a realistic and costed plan to reduce the national debt". It's a bit far fetched, even for a fairy story, but you'll be sound asleep after you've heard it three times over.

Re: Did you
I got bedtimes stories as a youngster, and my two get bedtimes stories, not every night but they do get them.

Re: Did you
Been attempting Wind in the Willows with a couple of my Grand kids when I'm babysitting, They might still be a bit young for it but I'm enjoying it.
They do ask for it though when I turn up so maybe I'll be able to read it again when they get a little older and can understand even more? Basically Bedtime stories should be fun for all, if you're bored with it, the chances are so are they. :) |
Re: Did you
Yes - I was read to when young and always read to my son at bedtime. I think the problem is that most kids have a TV in their room now and would rather watch that :(

Re: Did you
We didn't have such things as books in our house in Holland Street apart from those I used to get from the bookstand at St Andrew's School. I'd read all of them by the time I was ten.
I remember one in particular 'A Friend for Frances'. It was so lovely and I read it umpteen times. My children had bed time stories and my daughter has followed it on with hers. Nothing nicer than a good book! |

I bagsy being Badger. Who else wants to join in? Who can we have for turd, erm I mean Toad? (Sorry Folks Borrowed Jaysays keyboard again), Hmmm Toad=a slash take of the ruling classes, Jaysay= well, we won't go that far on a child friendly site, but I wonder? Jaysay, we've got a a superb position that has just opened up if you can stop playing with your new oxygen bottle for just a moment, (tsk, him and his crazes, last week it was chest infection, who knows what it will be next week). ;) |
Re: Did you
Saffron doesn't now... she reads to herself. Rhys gets made up ones, he prefers them, normally when he is a superhero! Not sure if I got em, will have to ask my Mum
