At last some sense

Return of REAL school sports: Tories to bring back competitive games in bid to turn nation back into sporting champions | Mail Online
At last some sense, its time we got away from left wing thinking that there should be no winners or losers in sport at schools, there are winners and losers in everyday life and that should also be reflected on the school sports fields

Re: At last some sense

I'm a bit confused with this thread , my old 1960s "secondary modern" Norden at Rishton has been designated a "Sports College" now I know its never been in the catchment area (Gt. Harwood and Rishton) for the brightest brains , but if the Govt. has been against competitive sports whats the point of the 'Sports College' designation ...... is it still just a place to warehouse kids with low academic expectations , somewhere to produce 'fit and able' young guys for the military ?
Seem to remember when I was there the playing fields were directly under the high voltage power lines , are the kids attending this "sports college " still being exposed to this radiation
Be interesting to hear from any Accy web users who have children attending to let us know how this 'sports college' designation is working
Thanks

I'm not surprised when education is going down the tubes faster than Special Brew goes down your throat, the time for sports is when kids can read and write fist;)

Education today teaches children what to think and not how to think.
It is being used as a social engineering tool where conformity is taught as the way to be accepted in society.

Think you're a bit off the mark on that one MargeR. If that's the case how come there's still quite a few decent Kids out there but also quite a few horrendous little scrotes ? These "Feral Kids" we hear so much about who seem to dominate news releases.

Maybe those 'scrotes' were planned to be so, in order that we would accept/request the limitations on our freedoms that their actions cause.
It is all about controlling the masses.
