Well I can give you a little bit of history about the Globe.
My grandma was the publican. She was the first lady publican took over after my grandad died. I was only young and she had the pub until she remarried when I was about 14. I remember when the miners used to come in after the shifts. She would allow no swearing in the bar and used to say "No pit talk in here, there are ladies present". In those days it was sawdust and spitoons. A snug for ladies and a little hatch where you could take your jug for the beer. I have many fond memories in the Globe and often cleaned the brass door signs.

My gran was one of those 'ladies present'. She lived nearby at Paxton Court.
She played dominoes there and was named Hocking - 'Are you knocking Mrs Hocking?'

It's been several years since the Globe finally closed it's doors, obviously your lack of presence may have effected it's demise.

I assume planning permission has been granted for change of use, so it should not be to difficult to find out what this place will become.
