I went off the Manchester on Tuesday and noticed that Shoezone in the Arndale is also closing for a refit(allegedly).

I looked and that graffiti wasn't there when they boarded up, also some now that looks to be inside the building on the top floor.

Well between us this morning we have hatched a plan to cause National embarrasment to Hyndburn Council if the decision isn't reversed. Watch this space :D

Probably not one single councillor but it will have been a decision made by the controlling group at some point. I'm not sure who would be the councillor to ask but Cllrs Dobson and Clarke are on the Accrington Town Centre Regeneration Board and Cllr Marlene Haworth is portfolio holder for Resources:

Councillors - View by name

I've sent a request to find out where and when the decision was taken but there is nothing to stop any member of the public from doing the same.

Yes I know, Lancs dave, but I was just saying that the one in the Arndale had exactly the same signs up........so it seemed just a bit 'fishy' to me......closing down for a refit.....Closing down for good?

I didn't realise they still had one in the Arndale.

Accroding to the manageress of the Broadway one I spoke to yesterday, they are closing next Saturday for 6 days, re-opening the following Saturday. We shall see

Thanks Ken. I believe it's being taken up by a representative of the traders, we will see what happens. I understand it's a decision made by Cllr Haworth. What she hopes to achieve by it I have no idea

Perhaps after her success with the Market Hall, she's planning to limit the amount of days residents can pee.
