Re: Rossendale Transport....thieving gits!
just checked, it's £15 for a childs weekly 'Rover' on Rossendale transport making it £3.25 a week cheaper if you buy her a weekly ticket (5x £3.65)
using Transdev a weekly 'silver' childs ticket will cost £10.20, with this ticket she can go to other places at the weekend such as .... Accrington Blackburn/Darwen Bacup, Town Centre Bolton, Moor Lane Bus Station Chorley, Interchange Clitheroe, Interchange Haslingden, Bent Gate or Road End Keighley, Bus Station Preston, Bus Station Rawtenstall, Bank Street / Bus Station Skipton, Bus Station Todmorden, Bus Station i know which i'd opt for it will take her as far as school during the week too http://www.lancashirebus.co.uk/fares.jsp?fareTypeID=43 |

Re: Rossendale Transport....thieving gits!
Its always been that way Neil, you'd not be spouting that load of crap if your kids had to get the bus everywhere, a lot of us have no choice but to put our children on the bus, sorry for not being as fortunate as you, some of us can't afford one car let alone 2, i suggest you put your brain in gear next time you intend chatting bubbles

Do kids under 5 still travel free on busses? I also remember as a child seeing notices on busses saying a half fare paying child was expected to give up its seat for a full paying adult if seats were all taken Also i heard that lancashire county council have cut funding to rossendale transport so they have had to raise prices where as other transport companies havnt had cuts of the same magnitude. If this is true then maybe a letter would be better directed at lancashire county council |

Thanks for the info, I've already checked all the alternatives, problem is the best times for her and closest to school are an X41 ( Transdev) in the morning, and a 464 (Rossendale Transport) bus home, if the X41 was available after school she would get that but it currently means a 40+ minute wait on her own in a bus stop. And I am well aware of it being my choice to send her to Hassy High, one I don't regret, I just object to being fleeced by a bus company that pretty much has a monopoly on bus travel up the Valley. ( Also informed by a Rossendale bus driver that they " don't do return tickets for children" Quality. |
Re: Rossendale Transport....thieving gits!
i was just pointing out that even people such as me who 'sponge off the state' don't get free bus travel
as you say, you don't regret sending her there, as i don't with our choice for Reece, sometimes we have to go that extra mile in life just to get something decent |
