Nothing to do with the Local History Society. My interest in poppy planting is linked to the Accrington Grammar School Old Boys seeking to associate themselves with schemes which will benefit local lads of senior school age. I am not a committee member of the local history society, but feel that the society should be working with others on schemes connected with our past.

In what way should the HistErical Society be involved, the Prospects Panel want people who are prepared to take their jackets off and roll their sleeves up, not glory hunters who just want to sit on committee's.
All the projects that are feasable, and have funding are already under way.
It would end up to much like more Chiefs than Indians.

You are trying to stir things up, you little divil.:D:D
Our family have a long history of serving in the forces, some having served before WW1. Two in WW1, one in WW2, and myself in the late 1940's as 2448301.
