some toe rag last night as i was watching telly decided that they would help themselves to a load of wire cables that are on the outside of the building ....hence i aint got no telly at all ..police this morning said they have taken it for the copper wiring humpf ....hope i got telly tonight i want to watch the batchelor later ..........inconsiderate sods ..mez

The 'pixies';) took the earth wire from the ariel on our block many weeks ago, but our ariel still works.

PS - there is 24 hour security guard now on the building site opposite, and there are lights on in a cabin and a noisy generator running, otherwise our wiring might have gone too.

well!!! well!!! well!!!, apparently im not the only one this has happened too, so quite a few people in hyndburn homes are without televisions for ? now hang on AT LEAT 3WEEKS............am i spitting feathers at the min ...........................i am on freeview , but got the socket for sky t/v if i could borrow a sky box would that work on my tele or what?


yes neil we do pay to h/homes ..am sick as a pig ..

The old ariels are still working
(even though this contravenes the planning permission which said they should be removed within 2 weeks)
...so if you can find the old socket somewhere on your windowsill, you could use that.

had a look margaret not there, but someone has offered to lend me a sky box but don't know if they have chopped that wire too .....im on freeview but the next socket to it is sky plus ive got a virgin box thingy on wall too...confused now .

Three weeks without TV!
The firm that installed these communal ariels went bust.
You (Mez) told me that Dugdales have taken over from them.
I have looked at their website

PS I can't find the letter from HH which shows what we pay weekly for this (poor)service - I recall it is several ££££

Get a FreeSat box, twice as good as Sky and its as it says on the box FREE, I've got both FreeSat & Sky, & most of the programs I want to watch I record on FreeSat.

The only system that doesn't need an ariel is Cable.
The ariels all use copper wire which is what is missing/stolen.

PS These flats have cable access wired in.
I am tempted to get connected to Virgin cable if our block has its its ariel wiring nicked.
The problem is that Hyndburn Homes will still charge for those enormous communal ariels whether you use them or not.
