I reported that leak on the junction of Burnley Rd and Eastgate on Monday...we have driven past it every day to see that nothing was being done and water was still trickling away.

Good point, Dave. Now then, Ally, as you live on Queens Road, would you like somewhere to go on Saturday afternoon? Somewhere with lots of water - and beer... ;)

Hmmm...so a pie and a pint followed by a stroll onto the terraces doesn't interest you? Oh well, never mind.

Becoming a right chatterbox now, aren't you? ;)

Talking of loss of water- UU are supposed to be sending letters out to their customers who were without water for over 24 hours. Just wondering how long this will take as we haven't received owt yet.We were off for more than 30 hours- Spring Hill area. Luckily we dont have central heating so were able to fill buckets from the hot tap( which comes from a tank which fills the cistern for hot water) to flush the toilet. They say a £25 refund is to be awarded for the first 24 hours. Will believe it when i see it.

The water mains in Church St area vary between 6 - 12 inches, a stand pipe has only a 2 1/2 inch outlet, so even 4 stand pipes on a 6" main could still be supplied. Don't forget there is another supply not 10 lengths of hose away, on the corner of Cross St, "The River H"
UU want to get some new script writers.
Retlaw.

I do agree.....but also please could you also alter your type face its very difficult to read..and i'm not THAT old! ;)

dont know if this will work, im trying to put a link on to the pictures on The Bridge Facebook page, if it doesn't work I apologise https://www.facebook.com/#!/media/set/?set=a.2189982552562.2111961.1337064595&type=3[/URL]

would appear unless you're logged into Facebook the above link doesn't work, how else can I upload a pick apart from clicking the link above which then asks for a URL ??

Looked to be a decent blaze when I was going to Pop club around 7pm, lots of smoke and visible high flames from Police Station end of Grange Lane.

Church St & Cannon St still closed off this morning. Unfortunatley for the town the building is still standing,
