My son lives near the Griffin Huncoat.
Last night his lighting went dim. On contacting the leccy people, he was told that the local substation had been broken into and the earth cables had been stolen.

It said on the news few weeks back the government were going to make it illegal for scrap metal merchants to pay cash for scrap and have to have documentation for all scrap recieved where it came from etc!

That's a good one I'll have to pass it on to my MP!

Government make legislation, but it doesn't mean its going to work, the holding of Hand Guns was outlawed, did it make any difference, no, the only thing it did was to push illegal fire arms further under ground. I remember at the time, how those harden criminals would be shaking in their shoes, "well that's it lads we can't go on with that armed robbery tomorrow the government has just banned us from having handguns, we either scrap the idea or we just stick with the sawn of Purdy"

It does not appear to be quite so from a comment Graham Jones made to me, I will let him explain when he gets chance so I dont get it wrong.

Jay, love the idea of a sawn off Purdy. The type of folk who can afford to own a Purdy aren't going to be sawing them off so your crims must have had to nick those first and doctor them before they can get on with their real robbery!

Did n't some of these brass plates nicked from a war memorial end up in Poland? I'm sure I heard that on the news - so some of this vital metal stolen is taken to Europe to be sold there!
