A serious guestion..your views needed.

Well i'm posting in the 1st person bacause this could be the last or indeed a very significant thread. I'd appreciate honesty, which i dont doubt for a minute is what i'll get. In recent weeks i have upset various members. This is'nt usually done on purpose but admittedly i have on several occasions had verbal spars with members who have done the same with me. I try to add something different to the forum, and regularly try to look at all sides of a debate. I dont do this to provoke or antagonise other posters, i just think it beneficial to look at all sides of a discussion. Certain members think i do this just to stir things up and cause controversy. A situation has now arose were members probably envisage me to be an obnoxious, disrespectful trouble maker. You would be very surprised if you met me personally. You would struggle to find anyone with a wrong word for me. I made it known on here that iv previously suffered from the illness of addiction. I am now clean and volunteer tirelessly for people who need help. You may be surprised to hear that last year i raised 5 thousand pound for various charitys. Im not affiliated with Maundy by the way, although Dorothy does a wonderful job. I was raised in a brilliant, hard-working family and people iv known since childhood express their shock at when they heard i was a junkie. Thats why i help others, because a lot of addicts are good people who took a wrong turn in the naivety of youth.....so, im asking you if you would like me to stop posting on Accyweb, your views and comments will be respected. I find the Accyweb lot a good bunch and delight in hearing our more mature members memories of Accy of old. I am quite unique in the way i post on here but i think a bit of variety is what any forum needs. Your views would be appreciated(if u see this as im not on your ignore list);)

You have apologised more than one on here, is this more of the same?

like yeh commented about a thread becoming boring groove, you have acheived the same status to me,

No surprise that you were a junkie, though I have to admit reading your post in the first person was far more pleasant than your usual carp.

Perhaps if you continue in that vain you and others will get along far better?

A heart-felt post, hopefully should change a few opinions. As for myself, I enjoy your posts and would say don't change your style, carry on and you'll win over your "enemies" eventually. I remember not so long ago when Bee was public enemy number 1 and now he's one of the gang. I've quoted your post cos even if you're on an ignore list they'll still see it - unless I'm on ignore as well! Groove...your forum needs you!

Re: A serious guestion..your views needed.

What Less said made me take you off ignore for just a moment or two.

Your post was much more interesting in the first person......can you feel the 'but' coming?
But the post in which you ask this 'serious' question smacks of an attention seeking nature.
Personally I don't care whether you post or not. What I can say is that while you post in third person singular, I will only read what you have written, if it is quoted by another member. You may consider your unique way of posting as 'interesting'...it isn't(or certainly not to me) you may consider that by doing things differently you are adding to the quirkiness of the forum.....you aren't.
You may think that by posting what are offensive juvenile jokes, you will make people laugh....making people laughis an endearing quality isn't it? It might be, if you didn't offend forum members.
You apologise to people for causing offence and then you do the same thing to someone else...and offer another worthless apology.
Do what you want to do....you will anyway. I don't think that what any of the members say will make one iota of difference to your decision.

As far as I am concerned you don't really want to be an active member of the forum, you just want to be noticed.

Of course you are entitled to your opinions. Groove will never ever convert me to like his third person singular way of posting.
I am not an enemy....and Bee is not my friend either....nor do I consider him one of the gang(is this the same as the 'clique'.......which I'm not in anyway)

Groove is playing the sympathy card...can't you tell?
The forum will survive if Groove never posted another word. This forum does not stand or fall on the input of one member.

Groove go and play your mind games some where else.

Retlaw, thank you for that. For a moment I thought I was just being a bit cynical....but it did only last for a moment.

I've got to take him as I find him, Cashy. He's never upset me with his posts, except for his slight against Sir Jimmy Saville, that is!!

And that is what I did too....for a short while.
After that his posts became tedious.
His posts became more like 'trolling' (and this post is just a variation of that trait)...so I hit the ignore button.
Let's wait and see what happens. I will post nothing more to this thread.
Let us see, if without the oxygen of attention, he can stick around.

I fully agree with your post and that of Groove,a lot of what he says is tongue in cheek which a number of forum members seem to miss, his originality is refreshing and are a ray of light when set against the nunber of depressing posts that have appeared recently:hidewall:
