How thoughtfull men can be.

My wife hates ladders and used to struggle emulsioning the ceilings( no problem with the walls). Solution- I bought her a brand new roller with an extending handle-problem solved and it didn't cost much. Also it means I don't have to offer to hold the ladders(very boring and I know I'm in the way).
She has a weak wrist and used to struggle opening tins, even after I bought her a new opener from Poundland. Solution- an electric can opener from a car boot sale! Yes I know it cost money but she's worth it.
Our old mower was very heavy and it took her half an hour to start the engine. Solved- I bought her a second hand Hovermower for her birthday. It's the smallest one so it takes her ages but I'm sure it's less tireing.
How have you other (gentle)men shown similar care and consideration towards your partners?( Less and the gas mask was a shining example). I'm always open to ideas.
Perhaps the ladies can tell us how we have helped them and give us a few suggestions (preferably ones which don't cost much).

Oh I wouldn't dream of leaving her, MargaretR, she depends on me so much. She'd be lost without me coming up with these labour saving ideas!

That does sound a dangerous diet.

Most prefer to shake their lettuce, and enjoy a nice big carrot.

I remember her saying, when she was digging her potatoes up, the rabbits had been at her lettuce.

(Don't anybody dare twist that!)

Well i'm no second hand cheapskate, bought the late missus "Brand New Kneepads" to smooth the concrete in the back yard that she had laid, i also turned the tap on when she required water.

I know, Margaret, I can't believe how married life has softened me and brought out the teddy bear in me. I didn't used to be so thoughtfull, she used to really struggle sometimes.

Yeah so did mine, I blame it on this womens lib malarcy, brain washing them into thinking they could multitask.
I always used to say, don't struggle trying to do two things at once woman, prioritise!
Bring me my fresh can of beer then fetch the coal in. (it got to be such a problem that as soon as I heard her moving the coal skuttle, I'd put my shoes on and go the pub to save her from displaying her shortfallings).
