A wind of change?
This morning at 5:45 while Acrylic-Biff was taking me for his early morning constitutional, there came a point where the wind changed direction. Suddenly, it was as if the air were full of fine needles. And I looked at said pooch and he looked at me, both of us aware of the change and what it portended. Silently and resignedly we turned and headed back indoors.
Turning on the news (BBC1) there it was. A met office weather warning. We must expect snow, it said, for tomorrow and Tuesday. Here begineth the winter. |
Re: A wind of change?

Re: A wind of change?
Groove was once watching a display by 1000's of starlings, like a swarm of locusts above Bullough Park. A passing elderly gentleman informed Groove that this was a sign that colder weather was on its way.....sure enough, the next morning Groove was met with a bitter arctic blast whilst in the same location. Groove wonders if anyone else has any unofficial pointers to signify the coming of winter?

Re: A wind of change?
Well, if it's November thru Febuary, it's generally cold.
That help? |
Re: A wind of change?
Well, considering that until today November has been unusually mild and it often snows in March, Groove thinks your November to February notion is'nt very accurate. Groove thinks the starlings are far better an indicator of cold than the date.

Re: A wind of change?
Well you would.
