how I choose to celebrate the time of year is totally irrelevant, it is my choice and I have a right to that choice. As I said originally, I am not religious and so celebrate in a non-religious way. This unlike some of you does not stop me respecting and tolerating ALL faiths and beliefs. As for barking up the wrong tree, open mindedness and acceptance of others appears to be a cardinal sin here and as you all seem to have failed to see that I posted the fact I believe that christmas should not be banned (which i believe to be the original discussion) however individuals should be allowed to celebrate in their own way without prejudice (a concept which seems lost on you) I will endeavour to put my time into something more productive. They do say you can't educate pork and that certainly seems to be the case for some people round here. Noone has asked you to change or alter your beliefs but in this so called season of goodwill to all men, one would expect you to respect other peoples.

I don't see any value in teaching religion, or celebrating religious festivals in schools.

If you want your child to have a religion, teach him yourself at home, and celebrate at home.

School time could be spent on other more practical learning.

I'll be going to see the Live re-enactment of the Nativity in our village on Boxing Day, it's beautifully done - the 3 wise men are Africans who live in the village -and non of them are Christians but they seem to enjoy taking part every year!:)

The only intolerance I've seen in this thread comes from yourself.

Aimed at those, of all, an no religion, who are looking forward to celebrating Christmas.

Yes, perhaps we must.

As everyone's still waiting for you to answer the question, as to which person in this country is being forced to believe in Christianity, and made to celebrate Christmas, against their will.

Perhaps you gave the answer, using such small type, that everyone's missed it.

Care to post it again?

I'm always on the pills Wyn but mine are prescribed, not made from pink salt and tree bark and the like, I leave those concoctions to others, I would have to blow my mind altogether;)

I've found an immigrant who's intent on stopping me celebrating Christmas in the true British spirit.

She's told me that's quite enough booze until tomorrow.

Sigh...Merry Christmas everybody! ;)

Do Midwinter Festivalists celebrate the New Year?

Since the holiday, and the calendar itself, are both Christian?

Still searching for all these "Midwinter Festivals"...haven't found any yet...or any signs of Christians (or heathens) being prevented from celebrating by PC zealots. Even Mrs H has relented and given me a pass-out to the pub! ;)
