A 3 or 4 year old able to search the web?

Most of them only just have the motor skills to spin in a circle on one foot, nevermind use a keyboard!

Forgot to mention, they excitedly shout, "Wheeeeeeee!".

There was a guy talking about his kid using computers and so on! Not all but some do! They have keyboards with big buttons!

I do spend a large amount of time webbrowsing but I am incapable of going out much.
The web is a better form of amusement and learning than the controlled info to be seen on TV. Subliminal messaging is on TV - any advertising man knows that!

I sometimes e-mail the Wright Stuff, tell em what I think, they read a message of mine out once!

Yes Internet is an amazing tool for looking at knowledge and information! But the issue is most of us grew up without Technology and went through that period of time in childhood in which we read books, kids these days many are going straight onto using computers and now phones and i-pads and electronic books etc. The research suggest this may be harmful to the growing mind, may be less so for the mature minds like us! :D

Exactly - these days kids are discouraged from going out and playing, climbing trees and so on - to sit in front of computers and get pulled into computer games and facebook! :D

You allow yourself to be taken in by the controlled info you read and watch on the internet in the same way you say happens on TV. You just decide to believe its true but it could be part of the plan by the new world order to keep you where they want you.

Unless you are there and experience things first hand you have to decide for yourself what is true and what is rubbish. You believe in world domination and all that stuff, I am far to busy to worry about who wants to dominate me.

I don't know why you let it bother you so much, life is to short, just enjoy it while you can.
Tomorrow could be my last so I would rather enjoy my life than worry about what if's and maybe's that wont really affect me any way.

I don't believe everything I see on the web any more than you do.
I am past worrying - just getting ready to 'go'.
I have had a hectic life and my pleasure now is peaceful inner reflection.

No-one has the right to dictate to me how I should live.

Wow Neil didn't realise you were such a good philosopher, can fault what you say, why spend time worrying about something you can't do out about:)

Unfortunately unless you have your own little island somewhere they do.

The joys of being a recluse mean that I am not affected as much as you.

All the information is not controlled in the way it is on TV! There is scientific data and other information that is not controlled by anyone, it's just information that is there for folks to make their own mind up about - Facts - some may be Fiction!

Also anyone can post personal videos on You Tube, containing their own views - that is not censored!

Internet addiction can be as damaging to teenagers' brains as alcohol and drugs, a study suggests.

Scientists say internet addiction disorder (IAD) is a recently recognised condition where individuals spend unhealthy amounts of time online.
Researchers have now discovered it disrupts nerve wiring in adolescent brains in a similar way to people exposed to cocaine and cannabis.
They believe it shows that being hooked on a behaviour can be just as physically damaging as addiction to drugs.
Denied access to their computers, people may experience distress and withdrawal symptoms including tremors, obsessive thoughts, and involuntary typing movements of the fingers.

Notice the last word? SUGGESTS!

That means the author of this has no substantial proof just an unproved theory.

Children grow up fast in your world, yesterday it was 3 & 4 year olds, now they have developed into teenagers, still, spending less than 24 hrs going through pubity will have been less traumatic, maybe they will be able to cope with the internet in a similar manner?

It is censored.

Unfortunately some people believe everything they see on YouTube is true and struggle to separate the truth from the ramblings of mad men.
